Funeral services for Freddie Q. Bessonette, of Brookhaven, are today, Dec. 8,

2018, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial at Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Adrian Fairchild will officiate the services.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 8, 2018, from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Bessonette, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven with his loving family by his side. He was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Lincoln County, to Leon Bessonette and Gladys Thomas Bessonette. He enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge and shooting pool where he was a faithful member. He loved dancing and was an avid hunter. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and friend to many.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 44 years, Rita Smith

Bessonette; son, Chris Bessonette; sister, Elsa Lee Bessonette; and brothers, Homer, Malcolm, Lonnie, Rudolph, Charles, Wesley and Junior Bessonette.

Survivors are his sons, Freddie Bruce Bessonette Jr. and wife, Peggy and Steve

Bessonette and wife, Sherry; daughters, Debbie Richardson and husband, Raymond, and Angie Smith and husband Shane; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Evelyn Smith and husband, Don; special friend, Linda Harveston; and a host of family and friends.
