Funeral services for Ryan Patrick McCaffrey Bateman, of Ruth, are Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial at JB Russell Family Cemetery in Ruth. Bro. Jeff Davis will officiate the services.

Visitation will be today, Jan. 4, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Bateman, 29, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at his home with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 24, 1989, in Brookhaven, to Darriel Patrick McCaffrey and Nova Gunnell York. He enjoyed watching television, wrestling and people. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, J B and Doris Russell, Carroll Joe Gunnell and Robert Allen.

Survivors are his mother, Nova Gunnell York; father, Darriel Patrick McCaffrey and wife, Nicole; brother, Justin Bateman; grandparents, Dorothy Allen, Darriel McCaffrey and wife Virginia, Judy Harrison and husband Ronnie, Judy Gunnell, and Ouida McCaffery; a special caregiver, Toya Humphrey; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Pallbearers are Thomas Gunnell, Russell Paul Gunnell, Koby Brady, Thomas Blaylock, Justin Johnson and Tony Carter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ryan’s name may be made to Make-A-Wish Mississippi, 576 Highland Colony Pkwy, Suite 120, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
