A private ceremony for David Henry Brewer Jr., of Crystal Springs, will be held at a later date. Riverwood Family in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brewer, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brookhaven surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 26, 1931, to David Henry Brewer Sr. and Annabelle Dixon Brewer. He was better known to his friends and extended family as “D. Jr.” He was one of 11 children. He served his country in the Marines during the Korean Conflict and continued his service with the Army National Guard. He enjoyed working and spending time at Rutledge Farms in Copiah County. He loved gardening and fishing and was an avid domino player.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Rachel Barker Brewer; son, David William Brewer; daughter, Denice Sanders; several siblings; two grandchildren, Jason Brewer and Belinda Courtney Cole; and several great-grandchildren.

Survivors are his daughters, Linda Jones and husband, Bo, of Terry, Pamela Johnson and husband, Dennis, of Crystal Springs; son, Dennis Brewer and wife, Tammie, of Brookhaven; daughter-in-law, Susie Brewer; brothers, Jimmy Brewer, Doc Brewer, Billy Brewer and Ronnie Brewer; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
