STAFF — The Farm Service Agency’s Lincoln County Service Center in Brookhaven is one of 20 federal FSA offices in Mississippi that will re-open temporarily in today, Friday and Tuesday to perform certain limited services for farmers and ranchers, according to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has recalled about 2,500 FSA employees nationally to open offices during normal business hours for three days.
FSA staff will be available to assist agricultural producers with existing farm loans and to ensure the agency provides 1099 tax documents to borrowers by the Internal Revenue Service’s deadline.
The Pike County Service Center in McComb will also be open those three days.
