Dozens of people attended a fundraising reception Thursday at The Hardy House to hear a presentation by Betsy Wagenhauser, the national director of Ferst Readers, who discussed “Childhood Literacy: Investing in our Community.” The reception was sponsored by Ferst Readers of Lincoln County, which provides free books to children from birth to age 5.
