BA Cougars sweep District 3-AA titles

Photos submitted The Brookhaven Academy Cougars swept the District 3-AA tournament titles on Saturday at Newton County Academy. The Cougars (26-3) defeated Clinton Christian 42-34 in the boys’ championship. In the girls’ finals the Lady Cougars (23-6) squeezed past Clinton Christian for a 47-45 win. Brookhaven Academy is hosting the MAIS AA South State Tournament this week at John R. Gray Gymnasium. The home team won’t play until Thursday. The Lady Cougars play at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ team against yet-to-be-determined opponents.
