2 bodies found in creek, 2 people arrested

PITTSBORO (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in Mississippi have arrested two people in a double homicide in the northern part of the state.

Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan tells WTVA-TV the bodies of 38-year-old Kendrick Armstrong and 59-year-old Sherri Turner Calderon were found Wednesday in a creek about 250 yards behind a home near Pittsboro. Both were from nearby Bruce. Both had been shot.

News agencies report that deputies charged 28-year-old homeowner Christopher Keel with capital murder. His 28-year-old girlfriend, Trinity Hastings, is charged as an accessory after the fact of murder. Both also are accused of possessing methamphetamine, and are being held in the Calhoun County jail.

It wasn’t known if they have attorneys. Deputies have not released a possible motive.

Pittsboro is about 42 miles southwest of Tupelo.
