Coach Cass Brister and his Enterprise Yellow Jackets are hosting an early season baseball invitational this week on Hwy. 583.
Today the schedule starts with coach Gareth Sartin and Bogue Chitto playing Salem at 3:30 p.m. The next game is 5A Vicksburg playing coach Jared Britt and Loyd Star at 5:45 p.m. The finale is the home team Yellow Jackets playing coach Andrew Haygood and his Lawrence County Cougars at 8 p.m.
On Friday it’s coach David Gilbert and his West Lincoln Bears playing the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars in the 3:30 p.m. game. West Lincoln turns right around again to play at 5:45 p.m. against the South Pike Eagles. The nightcap at 8 p.m. features Salem against South Pike.
Things get started on Saturday with Lawrence County playing Loyd Star at 10 a.m. Bogue Chitto plays Natchez High at 12:30 p.m. and Enterprise plays Natchez at 3 p.m.
The games are under a two-hour time limit. New innings won’t be started after two hours but can be finished out. The run rules will be 10 after four innings and eight after five innings.
