Authorities in Lawrence County apprehend escaped inmate Tommy Walters Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. at a mobile home park on Jefferson Street in Monticello. Walters had escaped from Hinds County Restitution Center Wednesday around 6:45 a.m. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office investigator Kyle Smith, Monticello Police Chief David Stanley, detective Sterling Allen, officer Stephen Creel, officer Jeff Letchworth, officer Will Summers and agents with the Mississippi Department of Corrections collaborated on the capture.
