Toxie Higdon Ballard

Mr. Toxie Higdon Ballard, 78, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on March 27, 2019, at his residence in Monticello, Mississippi. Higdon was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Monticello, Mississippi, to Toxie and Cornelia Lambert Ballard.  

Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2019, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello and will continue Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, with graveside services following in New Hope Cemetery.  Bro. Dale Authement and Bro. Kevin Crozier will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Higdon retired from Noble Drilling after 30 years of service. He loved spending time doing wood work. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Lou Johnson Ballard, of Monticello, son Chad Ballard and wife, Carol Ann, of West Monroe, Louisiana, daughter, Renee Howell and husband, Brad, of Byram, Mississippi, son, Jason and wife, Katie, of Longview, Texas; six grandchildren, Joy Ballard, Evan Howell, Grace Ballard, Maxx Frick, Alex Howell and Emi Ballard; one brother, VW Ballard; one sister, Modena Wilson, both of Monticello, Mississippi; and one sister-in-law, Betty Lou Ballard of Jayess, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Donnie Dean Ballard and brother Carey Ballard.
