TUNICA (AP) — Authorities say a north Mississippi woman critically injured in a Sunday shooting was caught in a crossfire.
WHBQ-TV reports 26-year-old Skyeesha Pige was shot in the head while driving home from church.
Tunica County sheriff’s deputies say they arrested Anfernee Harris, charging him with aggravated assault. It’s unclear if Harris has seen a judge or has a lawyer. Deputies say they’re also looking for Dontarrius Hibler. Investigators say they’ve identified the shooting’s intended target.
Ray Conley, Pige’s fiance, says he was mowing his lawn when a man arrived and began shooting at a second car. He says someone down the street then started shooting. Conley says a bullet hit Pige in the eye and she crashed into a parked car. She was taken by helicopter to a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital.
