Wesson Lions don’t want flat flapjacks so they won’t be flipping them for their annual fundraiser.

“It’s a fluffy-style pancake,” President Glenda Gemelli said about the star of the club’s annual breakfast.

Club members will be up bright and early Saturday manning the griddles to serve the fluffiest pancakes possible for the Wesson Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. Plates are $6 and will be available for dine-in or take-out from 6-10 a.m. at Wesson Baptist Church.

Plates include three to four pancakes, sausage, and syrup. Diners eating in also get milk, chocolate milk or orange juice. The coffee will be hot and the conversation lively, Gemelli said.

Tickets are available from club members, but will also be available at the door Saturday.

Gemelli said funds raised help provide vision and hearing tests and also allows the Lions to help with eyeglass and hearing aid purchases. The club also helps pay for vision and hearing surgeries, she said.

Gemelli said the annual breakfast brings out the regulars to eat and catch up with community news, but they also see some first-timers each year.

“We get to talk with a lot of people and get introduced to some new people in the area,” she said.

The club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month next to the cafeteria at the Copiah-Lincoln Community College campus. For more information, call 601-757-8172.
