(AP) — A Mississippi man charged in the kidnapping of his girlfriend is now charged with capital murder in her death.

The Hattiesburg American reports 32-year-old Demarcus McGruder was charged Wednesday with murder in the death of 25-year-old Falisa Carter, who was last seen alive in November. He’s set to appear in court Friday.

An anonymous tip about human remains in Forrest County woods led authorities to her body this month. The remains were identified through DNA analysis. The cause of death is pending.

A second man is charged in Carter’s disappearance. Twenty-nine-year-old Timothy “T Money” Evans was charged in December with hindering prosecution. Authorities now believe he helped in Carter’s disappearance and the charge was upgraded to accessory after the fact of felony kidnapping.

It’s unclear if the men have lawyers.
