Walter J. Trott, 70, of Ruth, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at Lawrence County Nursing Center.

He was born March 23, 1949, to Veronica Daniel Pevey.

Mr. Trott retired after 40 plus years as a tool pusher with Nabors Offshore Drilling. He faithfully served our nation in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, traveling with his wife and spending his time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother; wife, Darlene Trott; daughter, Mary Theresa Trott; and one brother, William Ray “Billy” Trott.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Trott and wife, Marty, of Silver Creek, Mississippi, Scott Smith and wife, Julia, of Ruth, Mississippi, and Damon Broome of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Karen Broome of Columbia, Mississippi; one sister, Donna Sue Hodges and husband, Wiley of Jackson, Mississippi; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Trott and the late William Ray “Billy” Trott of Oakvale, Mississippi; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.    

Visitation is Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday, May 6, 2019, from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. with Bro. Tim Allred officiating.  Burial will follow in Ruth Cemetery under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.

Pallbearers are Richard Clark, Taylor Clark, Matt Parkman, Damon Broome, Trey Harvey and Scott Smith.
