Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Faye Moak will be on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Moak’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Thomas Moak, Bro. Talmadge Smith and Bro. Jess Greer will officiate the services.
Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home at 894 Natchez Drive on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Moak, 83, of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 1, 1936, in Auburn, Mississippi, to Albert Enoch and Mattie Velma Brumfield Wallace. She was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church; was a homemaker; and enjoyed music, choir, growing flowers, gardening, teaching Sunday School, driving the school bus and spending time with her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Lurline Wallace Cutrer, Mabel Wallace McNeil, and Gloria Jean Wallace; and brothers, Robert Rudolph Wallace, Rayford Wallace, and Clifford Bailey (Sonny) Wallace.
Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Delton Lamar Moak; sons, Clifton L. Moak and wife Janella, Craig S. Moak and wife Melinda; daughters, Donna Wallace and husband Loyd, and Malinda Wimberly; grandchildren, Rebecca Moak Benson (Jeremy), Alisha Moak Cichirillo (Steven), Nathan Wallace, Stanley Wallace (Jonie), John Wallace (Gingerlyn), Barrett Wallace (Ashley), Shannan Wimberley (Montana), Brittany Moak and Steven Moak ; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mattie Lee Wallace Hughes; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Nathan Wallace, John Wallace, Shannan Wimberley, Jeremy Benson, Stanley Wallace, Barrett Wallace, Steven Moak and Steven Cichirillo. Honorary pallbearers are James Claude Hawkins, Fred “Freddie” Hughes Jr. and Audie Wallace.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Ministries.
