2 hurt after collapse of home damaged months ago by tornado
(AP) — Two people in northern Mississippi have been hospitalized after they were working on a damaged house and it collapsed.
News outlets report the accident happened Friday in Columbus.
Police Chief Fred Shelton says workers were using a “hammer and crowbar,” and city spokesman Joe Dillon says they removed a load-bearing wall. That’s when the structure leaned and fell.
Shelton says two people were hurt, but their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
The house was damaged by a tornado that struck Columbus on Feb. 23.
