Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Posey McManus of Brookhaven were 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial at Gum Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday, May 19, at Riverwood Family and 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Betty McManus, 84, went to be with her Lord May 17, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1935, to the late Rupert Posey and Edna Smith Posey.

Ms. Betty was a member of Gum Grove Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death are her daughter, Brenda McManus Castilaw; brothers, J.W. Posey, Skeet Posey and Mike Posey; and sisters, Donis Posey and Nell Thompson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse of 65 years, Jewel D. McManus; daughter, Jeanna McManus Hartzog; grandchildren, Hugh Hartzog and wife, Emily of North Mankato, Minnesota; Sarah Dianne Hartzog of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Smith; brother, Jack Posey; sons-in-law, Ronnie Castilaw and Greg Hartzog; and beloved nieces and nephews.
