(AP) — A city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast could develop a recreational area with an amphitheater, bike trails and other attractions.
WLOX-TV reports that Gautier leaders recently heard a proposal for an area called Town Commons.
The plan includes a musical playground and fountain, fire pits, an outdoor movie screen and a splash pad. It also has boardwalks, a kayak launch, a dog park, a pavilion and tree houses. And, there are courts for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and tennis.
The development would be on city-owned land near Singing River Mall.
The first phase of the three-part development would cost about $3 million, to be paid with grants and borrowing.
