Funeral services for Nikita Keith Smith, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Center Street Church of Christ. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, July 26, 2019, from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born Dec. 14, 1959, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, to Louis Stewart and Velma Bailey Smith. He departed his life on July 20, 2019, at his residence in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Nikita joined Bethel AME Church in Brookhaven. Later in life, he joined Thayer Church of Christ, in Bogue Chitto, and attended there for a number of years. He was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. as well as a member of The Friendship Lodge No. 923 of the Improved, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks of the World.

He leaves behind to mourn, his loving devoted wife Petra Washington Smith, of Brookhaven; his children, Brandon (Ebonie) Smith with Tiana, Taylor and Nikolos of Grand Prairie, Texas, Brittney (Dwight) Smith with Trevion, Aidan and Mia of Brookhaven, Brooks Smith I with Deante, Brooks II and Riley of Brookhaven; his caring mother, Velma Bailey Smith, of Brookhaven; one sister, Diane Marshall, of Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
