Funeral service for Mr. Samuel Edward Oldham Jr. will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, with interment at Riverwood Memorial Park. There will be a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

Mr. Oldham Jr., 77, of Brookhaven, passed from this life July 25, 2019, at his residence in Brookhaven. He was born Dec. 2, 1941, to Samuel Edward Oldham Sr. and Jean Ratliff Oldham. He was a graduate of Mississippi State with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology and was employed with Georgia Pacific as a plant superintendent until his retirement. While at Georgia Pacific he was awarded “Papermaker of the Year.” Mr. Oldham was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Brookhaven.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Oldham, and his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Samuel Edward Oldham III; daughter, Lesley Oldham McCormick; brother, Scott Oldham; sister, Bettye Ware and husband Clif; and his seven grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.
