The North Pike Lady Jaguars (3-2) used a strong defense to stifle the Brookhaven Lady Panthers (5-3) Tuesday night in Brookhaven. North Pike outhit Ole Brook 10-5 as they took a 6-1 slow-pitch victory over the Lady Panthers.
The loss drops BHS to 0-2 in region play. North Pike got on the board with one run in the second and then added two in the third and two more in the fourth to seize momentum.
Senior infielder Meg Foster led BHS at the plate with a 2-for-3 night. Foster drove in the lone Lady Panther run. Lulu Cook, Kyla Henderson and Angel Wilkinson all hit safely for coach Mandy Vinson.
BHS travels to Wesson tonight for a non-region game against the Lady Cobras. First pitch is at 6:15 p.m.
