Lincoln Countian Calvin Leggett stopped by The Daily Leader office Monday morning to show the rattlesnake he’d caught over the weekend. He said the snake — nearly as long as Leggett is tall — was caught live and placed into a box, where it died. The snake had 11 rattles. Leggett said he’s killed three other rattlesnakes this year and has lost count of how many he’s killed over his lifetime.
