Versie Ray and Janice Allen of Brookhaven will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in October. They were married on Oct. 10, 1969.

They will celebrate on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Brookhaven from 2 until 4 p.m.

Ray Allen is a retired Brookhaven Fire Department captain. Jan Allen retired after 35 years as custodian of New Prospect Baptist Church.

They have three children, Robin Ainsworth and husband Jeff, Becky Lewis and husband Lance, and Daniel Allen and wife Sara; four grandchildren, Haley Ainsworth Posey and husband Garrett, Bransen Ainsworth, Brooke Lewis and Allen Michael Lewis; and are expecting their first great-granddaughter Baby Posey in January.
