No. 1-ranked South Pike flies past Lawrence County

The top ranked 4A South Pike Eagles (8-0, 2-0) used a balanced attack of 213 rushing yards and 150 passing yards Friday night in getting a 38-7 win over Lawrence County (4-4, 1-1) in Magnolia.
SP led 20-0 at halftime. Quarterback Dontavious Turner passed for one score and ran for two more to lead the Eagles.
The lone Lawrence County touchdown of the night came on an 80-yard kickoff return to start the second half by Kylan Cooper.
Coach Jesse Anderson and his Cougars are back at home Friday for a region test against North Pike (4-4, 1-1). Next up for South Pike is a home game with Raymond (3-5, 0-2).
