Services for Mrs. Anna Louise Smith will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Riverwood Family with interment at Hillcrest Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, Oct. 22, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. also at Riverwood Family.

Anna Louise Smith, 80, of Brookhaven, passed from this life on Oct. 20, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Arkansas on Dec. 15, 1938, to Roy Sexton and Bess Hefly Sexton.

Mrs. Smith worked for many years in sales at J.C. Penney along with being a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Roy and Bess Sexton; brothers, Benny Sexton and Chas Sexton and one sister-in-law, Gloria Sexton. She was also preceded in death by an uncle and aunt, Loma and Clara Hefly whom were like parents to her along with their daughter, Ella Van Gundy who became like a sister to her.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62-plus years, John Douglas Smith; daughters, Tracy Catt and husband John W. and Terrie Hall and husband, Bradley. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Katie Cole and husband Jason, Ashley Hall, Brooks Hall and wife, Summer, Lindsey Hall, John Douglas Barker, Ann Barker and Mary Hardin Barker; along with two great-grandchildren, Axel and Gunner Cole.
