Amite County tops the Jackets, 36-15
The Enterprise Yellow Jackets (1-9, 0-4) dropped their final road game of the season Thursday night as the Amite County Trojans (5-5, 3-1) claimed a 36-15 victory in Liberty.
AC didn’t get on the board until just before the end of the first quarter when they took a 6-0 lead. The Trojans added two more passing touchdowns in the second quarter before the Jackets scored.
A rushing touchdown by Lawson Chemin and the Colby Beard PAT kick cut the Amite County lead to 20-7, which would be where it stood at halftime.
In the fourth quarter EAC coach Trey Woodard and his team got their second score on a pass from Donavin White to Dylan Vaughn to make the game 28-15 after White ran in for the 2-point conversion.
As a team the Jackets ran for 248 yards and were led by Vaughn with 136 yards rushing. Junior Edrick McCray added 92 yards and picked up 48 more yards on returns. Enterprise also gained 68 yards through the air.
Senior Brodie Harris was the top tackler with nine stops including a sack. Lawson Chemin and Josh Richardson each made six tackles apiece.
Enterprise closes out their regular season Friday on Harry Cole Field when they host the Wesson Cobras.
