Panthers pull out 1-point win
The Brookhaven High Panthers (4-5, 3-2) picked up their third straight win Friday by eking out a 13-12 win over Jim Hill (2-7, 1-4) at Hughes Field.
The game was played in sloppy conditions as the deluge that began Thursday night had soaked the field.
The game was tied 6-6 at halftime as BHS was playing without senior playmaker Byrion Robinson and a few other starters. The Panthers started four freshmen in the game.
Freshman Vincent Brown scored on a 49-yard run in the first half for the Panthers.
Jim Hill took a 12-6 lead in the second half before BHS scored to tie the game up on a 1-yard Dre Ross TD run. The crucial point-after kick by Trace Brady ended up being the game winning point for BHS.
Ole Brook hosts their final home game of the season Friday against Natchez.
