- Abby Smith, a senior at Brookhaven High School, was chosen Monday as Miss Merry Christmas for the holiday season. Smith was selected from a field of 10 contestants who were interviewed by a panel of judges at the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. She will be a holiday ambassador for the Chamber at the Christmas Open House Nov. 9 and lead the annual Christmas parade Dec. 5.
