The funeral service for Mrs. Nellie Mae Burks Thomas will be 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at Riverwood Family with interment at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until time of the service.

Mrs. Thomas, 94, of Bogue Chitto, died Nov. 11, 2019. She was born April 11, 1926, in Pearl River County, Mississippi, to her parents, Charlie Burks and Nellie Wise Burks. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John H. Thomas; parents; grandson, Kaleb Moak; four brothers, Charles Evan Burks, Johnnie Burks, Joseph Clyde Burks and Billy Burks; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Thomas.

Survivors include her son, Darryl Thomas; daughter, Theresa Livingston, and husband, John; grandsons, Justin Thomas and Kelly Moak; and great-grandchildren, Loren and Brandon Thomas and Makela Moak.
