A graveside service was held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi, for Cecelia Darlene Case Gipson, 68, of Columbia, who passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital. Bro. Mike Grenn officiated. Visitation was held from 9 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Columbia.

Known to her family and friends as “Momma D,” she enjoyed reading, sitting on her back porch watching her hummingbirds, cooking and baking, decorating for the holidays and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Russell “Ruff” Gipson; her parents, Pat Harold and Margaret Lucille Case.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Patrick Gipson (Katrina), of Magee; one daughter, Melissa Ann Jones (Chris), of Pascagoula; one brother, Richard Harold Case, of Maryville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Connor Scott Jones, Tristan Zachariah Jones, Shyanne Baleigh Gipson, Ashlynn Hope Gipson, Kayce Leighann Gipson and John Patrick Gipson; and her dear friend, Sue Robbins.
