Christmas break for boys and girls begins Monday. Area schools will be out from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3, encompassing the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s.

Arrow Disposal Services Inc. will not operate Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, pushing the garbage pick-up schedule back by one day.

The Brookhaven and West Brookhaven Post Office locations will also be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and will close at noon on Christmas Eve.

The Brookhaven/Lincoln County Government Complex will be closed for Christmas on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 and for New Year’s on Jan. 1.

The Monticello Town Hall will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. The office will close at noon on Dec. 31 and be closed all day Jan. 1. Lawrence County will also be closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s, but will not close New Year’s Eve.

The Wesson Town Hall will be closed for Christmas on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. The schedule for New Year’s is to be determined.

Meadville and Franklin County offices will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

A Christmas edition for Tuesday/Wednesday, Dec.  24-25, will be published Tuesday.
