(AP) — Two bodies were discovered Wednesday afternoon by a group of people riding four-wheelers along a rural north Mississippi road, authorities confirmed.
Foul play is suspected in the deaths of the man and woman found off the road in Lamar, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Memphis, Tennessee, Benton County Sheriff Robby Goolsby told news outlets.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist in the investigation, he added. The bodies were taken to the county coroner’s office to determine the causes of death.
No additional details were immediately released.
