Lady Panthers are Region 5-5A champs again

- Photo by April Clopton The Brookhaven High Lady Panthers (25-3) throttled Laurel High 54-38 Friday night at South Jones in the Region 5-5A tournament. It's the third straight year for BHS to capture the tournament title. Ole Miss signee Snudda Collins led BHS with 33 points in the win. Collins, Ayanna McNairy, Kyja Willis, Angel Wilkinson, Lulu Cook and Jayla Henry were all named to the All-Region team. Coach Preston Wilson was also named coach of the year for the region. Wilson is assisted by Christen Benson, Tonya Johns and Monte' Wilson. BHS has a first round playoff bye and will play either Gautier or Natchez Friday night at 6 p.m. in Sinclair Gymnasium.
