Every year, the Relay For Life events around the country raise funds for the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to — according to their mission statement — “saving lives, celebrating lives and leading the fight for a world without cancer.”

This year, Relay For Life of Copiah-Lincoln will have its event April 25 at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. This is a change from last year, when the event was held at the Lincoln Civic Center in Brookhaven.

“We are excited about our move to the Co-Lin campus in Wesson,” said Stacie Cross, community development manager for the American Cancer Society. “Relay For Life is a seasoned event, and the community will be celebrating 30 years of Relay this year. It is important for us to keep the event relevant and exciting. We’re looking forward to a great event that will ensure family fun for all ages.”
