A Brookhaven woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Hwy. 84.

Geraldine C. Smith, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris.

State troopers responded to a crash on Hwy. 84 at the intersection of Fair River Drive shortly after 5:30 p.m. It appears that Smith was driving north on Fair River Drive in a 2014 Toyota Camry when she drove into the path of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling west on US 84, said MHP spokesman Craig James. The Chevrolet, driven by 21-year-old Ryne Ard of Monticello, collided with the passenger side of the Toyota on the westbound side of Hwy. 84.

Ard was not injured in the crash, he said.
