(AP) — The body of a man found in a wrecked car submerged in a Mississippi creek was identified as a father of two, with a third child on the way.
Robert Dalton Curtis was found dead Monday in his vehicle just off U.S. Route 49 in Mendenhall, WLBT-TV reported. The crashed white Mustang appeared to have been there for about a week, Simpson County Coroner Terry Tutor said.
“It looks like it went across the median and probably turned and went backwards down the west side of 49 Southbound,” Tutor said.
Curtis hadn’t been seen since April 14, and was reported missing last Thursday.
Ashton Busby, a lifelong friend, said Curtis had recently posted on Facebook about becoming a father for the third time. She said he was a fun and outgoing person.
“He was someone you could just sit around and have a good time with,” Busby said. “He’d keep you laughing, that’s for sure.”
