A private service for Mr. James R. Brown is 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Riverwood Family with burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery.

Mr. James R. Brown, 85, of Brookhaven, passed away May 3, 2020.

He was born Jan. 7, 1935, to the late Clifford McKinley Brown and Lee Etta Wilkinson. He was retired from Chevron and was a member of Jackson Street United Methodist Church. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Courtney Marie Case; brothers, Clifford Brown Jr. and Alvin J. Brown; sisters, Opal Hare and Mickey Bosworth; and son-in-law, Michael A. Carr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Doris Fay Nevels Brown; daughters, Kimberly Lynn Brown Carr, Anna Lisa Brown Case (Kim) and Julie Marie Brown Case (Anthony). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Chadwick Michael Carr, Bradford James Carr, Zachary Memphis Carr, Brandon Gage Case and Madison Elizabeth Case; brothers-in-laws, Ralph Nevels (Sue) and Memphis Howard Nevels.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jackson Street United Methodist Church, 908 N. Jackson St, Brookhaven, MS 39601.
