Lincoln County COVID-19 death rate up

Lincoln County now has 186 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 14 deaths from the virus. That’s an increase of two fatalities and seven cases since Thursday. Ten of these deaths were among residents of long-term care facilities.

Five new deaths and 173 new cases of COVID-19 are reported across Mississippi today by the Mississippi State Department of Health.

The state’s total number of cases now stands at 9,674, with 435 deaths. The number of Mississippians currently hospitalized with confirmed coronavirus infection has fallen to 399.

Twenty-one of the new cases reported Monday were among residents of long-term care facilities. There are now 112 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities. An outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff.
