(AP) — Mississippi health officials said a second child has died in the state this year due a pediatric flu.
The child died in March but their case was not previously reported to the department, state Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said in a news release Wednesday.
The first pediatric flu death for 2020 was reported to the state’s Health Department last week. It was the first pediatric flu death in Mississippi since 2018, according to a news release from the department.
Officials did not provide the age of the children who died.
