Lincoln County’s total number of COVID-19 cases and deaths has risen, along with the release of four long-term facilities with outbreaks.

Wednesday, MSDH began releasing the names of long term care facilities with active COVID-19 outbreaks. A facility has to have at least one active case to be considered under an outbreak.

This data is self-reported from the LTC facilities. With 116 names on the list, Lincoln County is home to four of the facilities listed. These were Aspen of Brookhaven, Diversicare of Brookhaven, Lincoln Residential Center and Haven Hall Healthcare Center.

Aspen of Brookhaven’s outbreak includes 12 employee cases, 12 resident cases and no deaths. Diversicare of Brookhaven’s outbreak includes 22 employee cases, 40 resident cases and 8 resident deaths.

Lincoln Residential Center’s outbreak includes one resident case, no employee cases and no deaths. Haven Hall Healthcare Center’s outbreak includes one employee case and one resident case with no deaths.

Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Center had a previous outbreak, but their residents were transferred to neighboring facilities across the state so the facility could undergo a deep cleaning process. The facility is currently operational.

After the Hinds County Chancery Court ruled in favor of releasing the names of the long-term care facilities, the Attorney General’s office recommended that MSDH do so.

MSDH will update its website daily regarding the information posted about the long term care facilities. Breakdowns of a facility’s data will not be available at this time.

As of Friday afternoon, there are 281 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lincoln County, along with 31 deaths. There are 91 cases within long-term care facilities and 23 deaths.

Across the state there are 209 new COVID-19 cases, with nine new deaths and 116 new long-term care facility outbreaks.

Both MSDH and KDMC offer testing. Those receiving testing through the MSDH must complete pre-screening via app or by calling 877-978-6453. People who want to receive tests from KDMC are advised to call 601-835-9455 before visiting.
