Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lydia G. Magee will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the New Hope UMC Cemetery in Loyd Star, MS. Bro. Ken Hart and Dr. Mike Lips will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Magee, 96, of Caseyville, MS, passed from this life on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the BeeHive Home of Brookhaven. She was born on December 11, 1923, in Jefferson County, MS, to Claude S. Geoghegan and Renie Vaughn Geoghegan. She attended New Hope United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and served beside her husband as Pastor’s wife since 1960 to Mt. Morgan Baptist Church, Gatesville Baptist Church and Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and devoted friend to many.

Mrs. Magee is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Rev. Robert S. Magee; and siblings.

Lydia is survived by her brother-in-law, Marshall Magee and wife Carolyn; along with a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to: fellow church members and friends, Eddie and Barbara Calcote for their dedicated assistance to Lydia during her latter days; and also to her brother-in-law Marshall and his wife Carolyn for their loving care for Lydia; and the caring staff of the BeeHive Home of Brookhaven.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the New Hope UMC Cemetery Fund, 2216 Hwy 550 NW, Wesson, MS 39191.
