Ms. Lillie Shannon, 65, of Wesson, MS, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at home surrounded by family. Lillie was born December 11, 1954, in Wesson, MS to Versie and Sylenaer Coleman Shannon.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 for family from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM and for the public from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at House of Peoples Funeral Home in Hazlehurst, MS. Graveside service for Lillie will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at New Hope United Methodist Church 2163 Sylvarena Rd, Wesson, MS.

Lillie was a faculty secretary at Copiah-Lincoln Community College for 34 years. She will be remembered for being kind and always willing to lend a helping hand. Lillie was a member of St. Peter Rock MB Church in Beauregard, MS where she was active in the women’s church choir.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers Bennie Shannon and Versie Lee Shannon; and sisters, Judith Pearl Shannon, Eddlean Wilson, and Sue Ella Baker.

Lillie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Cheri (Louis) Shannon-Archie of Jackson, MS and Tiana Shannon of Burnsville, MN; grandsons, Ashton, Austyn, and Ayden all of Jackson, MS; God-granddaughter, Samaiyah McCullough of Hattiesburg, MS; brothers, Otis (Mary) Shannon of Wesson, MS and Jimmy Ray Shannon of Houston, TX; sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Kenner, LA and Beverly (Barry) Gayden of Brookhaven, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
