COVID-19 Update: No new cases, deaths in Lincoln County

Lincoln County had no new COVID-19 cases or deaths reported Wednesday, with totals remaining at 1,026 cases and 52 deaths, according to data released from the Mississippi State Department of Health.

According to cumulative data through Sept. 12, coronavirus-related deaths in Lincoln County have occurred in ages 30 and up. One person has died age 30-39, one age 40-49 and three age 50-59. In ages 60-69 and ages 90-plus, nine people have died in each group. Twelve have died age 70-79 and 17 ages 80-89 have died due to COVID-19. Of the total 52 deaths to date, 61.5% have been LTC facility residents.

 

Across the state

MSDH reported 711 new cases Wednesday and 22 new deaths. Six of the deaths occurred Aug. 23-Sept. 9, confirmed from death certificates.

There were 133 outbreaks in long-term care facilities statewide.

MSDH presumes 78,971 are recovered from the virus.

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, 79,166 individuals had been tested by the MSDH Public Health Laboratory, and 8,611 had positive test results.

Case totals are updated daily by MSDH based on test results from the previous day. Outside laboratories also report positive test results to MSDH, which are included in the totals. Repeated tests for the same individual are counted only once. County case numbers and deaths may change as investigation finds new or additional information.
