Good Morning Brookhaven! Cold front may bring storms, winds just before Thanksgiving

The spirit of Christmas is coming to Brookhaven. So, too, is a cold front that The National Weather Service in Jackson says may bring rainfall and possibly some damaging winds. The cold front will pass through the area Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Today expect a mix of sun and clouds with cool temperatures. Highs will be in the mid-60s. Should be great weather for watching the new city Christmas tree go up downtown. Thanks to the Brookhaven Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce for the picture of the tree.

Tuesday will start out mostly sunny with clouds developing later in the day. The approaching storm system will bring warm temperatures and more humidity. There is a Level 1 “Marginal” threat for severe storms across Central Mississippi on Wednesday. Damaging winds and locally heavy rain will be the main threats, though there will also be a low threat for one or two tornadoes.

Thankfully, skies should clear just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Expect mostly sunny skies with high temperatures near 70 degrees on Turkey Day.
