Christmas tree lighting ceremony and festivities postponed

The tree lighting and other festivities planned by the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce have been postponed, according to Chamber program director Katie Nations.

Due to state-mandated gathering restraints, the tree lighting set for Dec. 3 has been postponed. The restraints are due to Gov. Reeves adding Lincoln County to the mask mandate, which included guidelines for both indoor and outdoor gatherings.

Despite that, the tree was lit Wednesday so that residents may admire it. Standing at 30 feet tall, the tree features 15,000 lights.
