County approves payments on road, bridge work

The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors approved more than $367,000 in payments for emergency road and bridge repairs during the board’s regular meeting Monday.

County Engineer Ryan Holmes updated the board via Zoom on four projects and made requests for payments to be released to respective contractors.

The first was to Beacon Construction for $80,425.67, for a project on Maple Lane. The payment would come from the Emergency Road and Bridge Repair fund.

Another payment request for Beacon Construction on the same project was made for $52,144.55, from the same fund.

Holmes also presented a request for payment of $215,930.89 to Magco Inc. road construction company for a bridge project on Arlington Drive. The monies would also come from the ERBR fund.

A request to release payment of $18,981.94 to T.L Wallace Construction was also discussed for the bridge project on Lott Smith Road. Subcontractors McCraney’s Striping & Seal Coating will complete the striping on the road and Road-Pro Safety Inc. will put up new road signs.

A bid opening will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. for a Pleasant Hill Road project. If the board has at least three members present, a bid can be awarded to a company.

Each payment was voted on and approved by the board.
