The Walgreens Drugstore on Brookway Boulevard closed its doors temporarily Tuesday morning, causing residents to wonder if the store was shutting down permanent or closing for an emergency.

The Daily Leader contacted Walgreens’ corporate office to find an answer.

A company spokesperson said the store was one of many that were closing this morning for a few hours to perform precautionary deep cleaning to help fight the spread of the coronavirus. The store should be open again later in the day, he said.
