A local ministry has received $5,000 for its food pantry from Trustmark National Bank.

Stan Foster, president of Brookhaven Trustmark Community Bank, presented a check for the amount to Dr. Jerry Durr of Brookhaven Outreach Ministries recently.

Trustmark partnered with 69 organizations in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Texas to support hunger relief efforts that have been significantly impacted by the coronavirus epidemic.

The “Sleigh Hunger” campaign has contributed $250,000 to these organizations.

“Our communities, local economies and families continue to experience unprecedented disruptions in their daily lives, and Trustmark has made a commitment to support and provide relief as we can,” said Trustmark CEO Jerry Host. “We understand the importance of being a true community partner and that begins with helping our neighbors in times of need. We are proud to partner with these organizations throughout our footprint as they continue to provide significant hunger relief in our communities.”

The “Sleigh Hunger” campaign follows an earlier effort by the bank where approximately $150,000 was donated to community and school-based programs to provide good kids and meals to 16 organizations in the same five states.
