On Thursday morning, the Brookhaven Police Department and the Brookhaven Fire Department responded to a call between 7 and 8 a.m. concerning a fire on East Monticello Street, near the intersection of East Monticello and Penn Street.

First responders arrived to BB’s Discount Food Mart and found the building behind the store to be on fire. Responders put the fire out and inspected the area around the store once the fire was extinguished.
