Ruby Faye Hamilton Lemaitre Myers

Mrs. Ruby Faye Hamilton Lemaitre Myers, 89, of Escatawpa, MS, passed away at her home on January 8, 2021. Faye was born on February 24, 1931, in Lincoln County, MS. She was a resident of Jackson County for most of her life. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and former member of Escatawpa Baptist Church and will be deeply missed by many there. She had formerly worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding and Moss Point School System. Spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for the family and sewing on family quilts with her sister Catherine (Tiny) Stricklin were her passions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruby Lee Thornhill; husbands, Francis Hamilton, Arnold Lee “Chippy” Lemaitre and Tommy Myers; siblings, Minnie Lea and Nita Goff.

She is survived by her sons, James Hamilton, Jerry Hamilton (Ann), Eugene Hamilton (Anita), Jerry Myers (Tina); daughter, Ruth Evelyn Allen; brother, David Thornhilll; sisters, Ann Carolyn Lee and Catherine (Tiny) Stricklin; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

A graveside service was Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Serene Memorial Gardens, 12800 Hwy. 613, Moss Point, MS. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face masks and social distancing were required at the graveside service.
